Muscle Milk Shakes

Muscle Building Milkshake Recipes

There is nothing better for thirsty muscles than a tasty and nutritious milkshake. Milkshakes can be healthy or not so healthy, depending upon what you put in them.

The base for the best muscle building shakes is milk. That's because of milk's insulin activity, absolutely great protein to carb ratio, its electrolytes and the inclusion of some fat to help that protein digest in a maximum way. For muscles, always use a milk base.

A banana is another great ingredient – it gives the taste a huge boost while adding fiber, potassium and other nutrients. Yoghurt is always a plus if you use a yoghurt that isn't overloaded with sugar. A natural fruit flavored yoghurt is great.

Here are some other ideas:

Germ Blast
Milk base – 2-3 cups
Strawberries – half a cup
Banana
1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt
3 tablespoons of wheat germ

Orange shake
Milk base – 2-3 cups
Banana
Juice of 2 tangerines
Orange flavored yoghurt

Popeye shake
Apple juice – 1 cup
1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt
cup of spinach
ice cubes

Brewer's Bomb

1/2 cup of vanilla yoghurt
3 tablespoons of brewer's yeast
ice cubes
